Hi! I’m Kevin. I led the first evolution of digital fitness and sold my consumer tech startup for $150M.
I was then a founding part of a team that built a $7M+ DTC CPG brand that disrupted the traditional chocolate industry. Next I spent a tour deployed in PE advisory and operations work, and now i’m back with my first ❤️ — inventing the future of the Outdoor Industry as the VP of Product @ Outside Inc.
I've been a Founder, a COO, a CTO, and a CPO, but ultimately I’m a product innovator with 20+ years of experience building technology that makes people’s lives better.
In 2005, I founded MapMyRun with the goal of motivating people to move more through technology. That early idea evolved into MapMyFitness (with Robin Thurston and Jeff Kalikstein), which became one of the largest and most influential digital fitness platforms in the world. We helped define the mobile fitness category — and in 2013, the company was acquired by Under Armour.
I’ve recently come full circle. After leading several major product initiatives at Outside Inc., including the company’s early foray into outdoor-focused Web3 and later as VP of Product overseeing the full digital portfolio, I’m now back running MapMy as Interim GM and VP of Product. Our team — which includes other original MapMy veterans — repurchased the platform and is focused on rebuilding the apps into the best in the industry for our 90M+ users across the world.
As a leader, I believe in giving smart people room to run — to take risks, learn fast, and make things better. I’m drawn to self-starters and entrepreneurial thinkers who thrive in ambiguity and push for impact. I believe small changes can create massive ripple effects, and I take pride in building teams that ship smart, user-centered products.
I’m also deeply involved in the Austin tech community. As a super mentor and EIR at Capital Factory, I enjoy helping early-stage founders navigate the chaos, pressure-test ideas, and avoid some of the mistakes I’ve made along the way.
Outside of work, I’ve lived and traveled extensively around the world, which taught me early on that good technology isn’t insular — it needs to serve a global, human purpose to truly make a difference.
Oh. I also make wine in the Hill Country, Texas. I’m bad at it, but it’s fun. 🍷

I joined Thinktiv in 2019 first as an EIR then I eventually lead the Product & Technology practice as CXO. I knew that I wanted to use everything I have learned thus far to advise and help investors, companies, and founders through challenges, acquisitions, and more. Thinktiv gave me the opportunity to work in a wide variety of different industries through working hand-in-hand with tier-1 private equity clients and their portfolio companies. I got to work on some amazing deals with Marlin Equity Partners, TAA, and Hg.
